People "I am out of politics" have been living in the information vacuum of the pro-government media for 20 years and their views are the result of propaganda. It is very difficult to convince them, since their position can be expressed by the words "this is somewhere far away, I am a small person, they (the government) will figure it out somehow..." Such helplessness is the result of the lack of independent media in the country, an impartial court and honest law enforcement organs.
Of course, there are those who support the regime and engage in aggression. You can learn about the motives for the behavior of such people from the studies of Stanley Milgram, Philip George Zimbardo, Robert Morris Sapolsky and other scientists. All people in the world are the same, but they live and develop in different conditions - not everyone was lucky with their parents, not everyone had a healthy childhood, and someone is more influenced by propaganda. Do not take my words as an excuse for these people.
I cannot say how many active, honest and friendly people are left in the country. Those who could not leave hoped for a miracle, because there was no hope for anything else. Any hint of opposition activity, even the most peaceful one, is a criminal prosecution not only for the oppositionist, but also for his children and parents. As I said above, for many years there has been no independent media, an impartial court and honest law enforcement agencies in the country. Just as there is no human rights council, just as there are no fair elections. Any protest and any expression of disagreement - batons, a paddy wagon, a criminal case, fines, a bottle or a mop in the ass, a prison or a hospital. There has been no dialogue between the authorities and the people for a long time. This is not a government, this is a group of armed oligarchs. They make money by selling natural resources such as oil and gas. They hold power by force and deceit. Peaceful, honest and active people only interfere with them.
We will rejoice with the whole world when this hell is over. We and our children will get a big task - to establish peaceful relations with the whole world.
Until recently, the regime was the problem of citizens. We lived in the hope that someday everything will change and this will remain a black streak only in our history. Nobody believed that this is possible in the modern civilized world.
As you may have noticed, in this text there is no direct reference to either countries or political figures. I value my freedom, but I know the price that I and my family will have to pay for rash words.
