Hi! All the holidays have passed - New Year's Eve and Christmas. Congratulations to all involved and sympathizers! Fun fact: in some countries, religious holidays have been renamed to neutral holidays - apparently so that the church knows its place. So, instead of Christmas it's Family Day, instead of Epiphany it's Children's Day, and Easter Week has become Tourism Week. This, however, does not prevent those who wish to observe the usual traditions - with a bearded old man and other Christmas trees and stuff.
Speaking of old mans, I became a year older, but I never grew up. Started the day with a festive mug of coffee and had fun working all day. I promise to be more frugal next year.
Toward the end of the year, good people gave me various interesting gadgets - a mini-computer and the seventh laptop in the family. I'm a simple man: I see hardware, I build a server room. Now I have not only an additional source of heating in winter, but also an opportunity to deploy my home Kubernetes clusters. Bare hardware + a part in Hetzner + encryption of the internal network - for those who know a lot about perversions. But it's even better: you understand how it all works, and you feel yourself not just a YAML programmer, but a maggot of an engineer.

Visited Cyprus again in January. It is probably the coldest month there. To make it clearer to most readers: January in Cyprus is like October in Vladivostok. A light jacket is always at the ready, but during the day, if it's not raining, a t-shirt is enough. Rare uncles even continue the bathing season. In the off-season there are a lot of simple, non-touristy people from all over Europe. At breakfast you can hear British English, on a walk - Polish pierdole and something Scandinavian, completely incomprehensible. Apparently, they come to wait out the winter.
